Communication and Class Representative Seminars 2019
From Wednesday to Friday before the fall break, our annual class representative seminar took place once again. Together with our liaison teachers, Mr. Holz and Mr. Bosky, a total of 36 students traveled by bus to Memhölz near Kempten after 9th period. Joining the trip were one class representative from each grade level (7–10), the school and senior student representatives, as well as members of the AKV, the fruit group, and the tech team. We stayed at the "Haus der Familie – Schönstatt auf’m Berg." As every year, the goal of the seminar was to address existing issues at our school, listen to concerns from fellow students, and work together to find potential solutions.
After an initial evening of getting to know each other, we agreed to once again organize the “Gifts with Heart” campaign by Humedica at our school this year. The next day, we got to work: after collecting the concerns raised in the various classes, we split into working groups. Each group focused on specific topics such as “Environment,” “School Dance & Events,” or “Upper School,” and developed ideas and proposals. These were later summarized and presented on posters. Special thanks go to our school psychologist, Ms. Utschick, who conducted a survey on bullying and supported a dedicated working group on the topic.
On Friday morning, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Walter (principal) and Mr. Dössinger (member of the school leadership team), who listened to our concerns and discussed them with us in person. In conclusion, we can proudly say that we once again took an active role in shaping and improving school life and were able to give our fellow students a voice through this year’s class representative seminar.
