Company Visits / Training Days 2021

The field trip to the headquarters of the Hirschvogel Automotive Group in Denklingen was an impressive end to the last school year for the students enrolled in the robotics elective at the Pfaffenwinkel Realschule in Schongau.

After a short welcome, the students received an initial insight into the role and work of the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation.
Walter Pischel, Chairman of the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation, described the scope and nature of the support that enabled the implementation of various projects at schools. Thanks to the foundation’s funding, students have been given new opportunities over the past years, especially in science education.

Using various sample parts, Peter Petzoldt then explained the different metal processing methods employed at the Denklingen site. This was followed by a guided tour of the plant. Led by Stefan Lube, the students observed the robots in action. They gained insight into the wide range of robot applications as well as the immense forces involved in forming technology. In addition to the enormous precision of the processes, the students were particularly impressed by the usefulness and necessity of the safety guards installed on the metal presses.

The lasting impression of the excursion became evident on the return trip. The students actively discussed possible career paths that combine programming skills with the practical application of robotics.

The excursion was therefore a great success and left a lasting impact on both students and teachers.

We’re already looking forward to next year and hope to be welcomed once again as guests of Hirschvogel.
