Presentation Skills Training 2019
How do I present effectively? Which media and materials should I use? How can I gain confidence in my topic? These are questions that ninth-grade students at Johann-Winklhofer-Realschule Landsberg ask themselves every year, as one written exam in the subject of German is replaced by a project presentation at Bavarian secondary schools.
To ensure students are well-prepared, external instructors are invited to the school to train them for a full day in presentation techniques and rhetoric. At Johann-Winklhofer-Realschule in Landsberg, the annual Best-of Presentations evening took place in the middle of the school year. This year, the popular event exceeded all expectations. More outstanding projects than ever before had been submitted by the eight ninth-grade classes: fifteen groups of three to four students each were selected to present their exceptional work in front of a large audience.
More than 200 guests attended, including parents, eighth-grade students, school staff, and local business representatives. Special thanks go to the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation, which once again generously funded the external rhetoric workshop provided by the Augsburg-based organization “360° Kompetenzteam” (a team of experts specializing in communication and presentation skills), thereby relieving the financial burden on families.
