Research and Experiment Week 2016
From December 12 to December 16, 2016, 30 enthusiastic students from the 6th grade of the Ignaz-Kögler-Gymnasium in Landsberg had the opportunity to conduct research and explore hands-on science at the Student Research Center Berchtesgadener Land.
The program for the student group included a visit to the "Haus der Berge" (House of the Mountains), building a “brush robot,” a tour of the local salt mine, and a math-themed scavenger hunt through Berchtesgaden. As a souvenir, the students also created their own keychains using computer software and a laser cutter. Additionally, the children were introduced to the concept of magnification and spent an afternoon discovering the world of astronomy.
Both students and teachers agreed: these were exciting and inspiring days that sparked a greater interest in the natural sciences.
The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation covered the majority of the costs for this trip.
