Digital Accessibility Statement

The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation is committed to making this website accessible to all users. Although we are not legally required to publish an accessibility statement, we voluntarily declare that we work in accordance with the WCAG 2.2 (target level AA) / EN 301 549 and continuously improve our content.

This accessibility statement applies to https://frankhirschvogelstiftung.de.

Compliance status

This website is mostly compliant with the requirements of the WCAG 2.2 at AA conformance level. The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation has implemented various measures to improve accessibility for all users. In particular:

  • clear HTML structure and semantic content for assistive technologies
  • keyboard operability including a visible focus indicator
  • sufficient colour contrast and additional visual cues beyond colour
  • automatically starting or moving content (e.g., sliders, autoplay videos) can be paused and stopped at any time
  • accessible forms with labelled fields and understandable error messages
  • meaningful, descriptive alternative text for relevant images

Non-accessible content

Some functions and content are not yet fully compliant. The following points are known:

  • Non-accessible PDF documents for download (partially lacking correct tags/reading order/alternative text).
  • The interactive map on the homepage is not fully operable by keyboard to the same extent as by mouse; it is intended as an additional offer and not a sole carrier of information.
  • On smaller screens, there are contrast issues between text and background in a few areas.
  • Third-party plugins (e.g., Borlabs Cookie) currently show accessibility limitations (e.g., reduced compatibility with assistive technologies due to missing or incomplete ARIA attributes).
  • In some places, ARIA attributes (roles/status messages/live regions) are not consistently implemented.
  • Alternative text for images is currently available predominantly in German; only one image provides a separate English alt text.

The limitations listed above particularly affect the use of assistive technologies such as screen readers. Accessibility improvements in these areas will be implemented step by step within technical and organisational possibilities.
