Practical projects
The goal of practical projects at the vocational and technical school “Górnolaskie Centrum Edukacyjne (GCE)” in Gliwice, Poland, is to provide students with the opportunity of deepening their general and professional knowledge, thereby expanding their skills and qualifications in order to meet the demands of the labor market. The school regularly organizes various courses for increasing vocational qualifications for school students from across Poland. The students are offered the chance to take part in various practical lessons to improve their chances on the job market.
As part of the “Be Creative!” project, a group of students was given the task of independently planning and producing souvenir medals or a statue bearing the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation logo using the graphic software Corel Draw and a laser plotter.
The main goals of the project were to:
- Increase team spirit and creativity
- Learn how to operate the graphic programs and the laser plotter
- Increase the profile of the company Hirschvogel
The project led to highly motivated and enthusiastic students who – besides developing and producing the promotional items, such as medals and displays – also made Christmas gifts, cellphone holders and even a robot with hydraulic drive.
