For two days, the Malura Museum transformed into a vibrant, bustling art studio. Nearly 50 children and teenagers aged 5 to 15 explored their artistic talents under the guidance of four professional artists. Supporting them were ten dedicated supervisors who ensured everything ran smoothly and took care of the ever-hungry young participants.
Andrew Malura stepped in as head chef and converted the Malura Atelier on the hillside into a bustling "Spaghetteria." Meanwhile, the street in front of the museum turned into a lively playground.
The artistic offerings were both diverse and challenging:
Martin Blumöhr inspired the children to create imaginative comic-style characters, some glowing in bright neon colors. Under the guidance of Monika Dittmar-Brückner, stunning acrylic paintings and vibrant wax artworks came to life on canvas.
Laura Stracke led the creation of beautiful glass mosaics, which were displayed on a handmade tree sculpture. With Steven Hicks, the children crafted expressive animal and human masks, which they later brought to life with matching costumes in a playful performance.
On the second day, the event culminated in a grand vernissage. All the artworks were exhibited and admired by parents, grandparents, friends—and even by local politicians and sponsors. The children’s creativity and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone present.
