ProfilPASS

Project Description
What am I good at? What do I enjoy? These are questions every student has likely asked themselves and wants to answer quickly.
The ProfilPASS (Skills Profile Passport), developed for young people aged 14 and above, helps answer these questions. In cooperation with the VHS Buchloe, it is part of the “Advanced Career Orientation” project for all 8th graders at Mittelschule Buchloe.
The ProfilPASS uses biographical methods to identify competencies and highlights informal learning experiences and environments. It guides students through self-reflection and consists of three sections: My Life, My Strengths, and My Goals.
Many students are unsure about the requirements of various professions. Comparing their self-assessment with assessments from teachers, friends, and family is an important part of working with the ProfilPASS. Reviewing extracurricular activities - such as involvement in clubs, social organizations, fire brigades, or as altar servers - and voluntary school roles (like conflict mediators, crossing guards, school first aiders, or members of school clubs) helps uncover important skills and talents. “Many young people are unaware of the strengths they develop here,” say youth social workers Nicole Mayr and Birgit Lenuweit from Mittelschule Buchloe.
In a final small-group session, students participate in a mock job interview to present their personal profiles. This exercise makes clear that students have gained valuable feedback, have made their strengths visible, and can reflect on their interests and individual abilities. Those who perform well receive a certificate to include in their application documents.
