Well-prepared and in high spirits, our team Needs No Name set off by bus on Saturday, February 15 at 5:50 a.m. for Regensburg to attend the “Semifinal Europe Middle,” the second round of the global robotics competition.
Without pressure but with a glimmer of hope for a top placement — at least in one of the four categories (Teamwork, Presentation, Robot Design, or Robot Game) — the highly motivated team gave its best. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite enough on this particular day. Due to the strong competition, the NNNs managed to land “only” in the middle of the field in all individual evaluations. Still, with an 11th place out of 19 participating teams, and first place for best team spirit during the competition day, the team members were more than content.
After the now-traditional, stomach-filling stop at the “Golden Arches,” the positive mood on the journey home hit another high point.
