On June 1, 2022, the 5th-grade students of Marien-Realschule Kaufbeuren had the opportunity to explore their interest in technology and their craftsmanship during the Technology Rally. At 25 different stations, the girls playfully learned how to work with various materials and tools, while demonstrating their own technical skills. The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation supported the activity course by contributing to the material costs, thereby promoting the students’ career orientation.
Technology Rally

Project Description
Career guidance and support in choosing the right educational path are essential for all students. The Tech Rally, developed by the Bavarian Economic Education Institute, is a hands-on course in science and technology that offers children an accessible and engaging introduction to the STEM fields.
At 25 interactive stations, students test their skills with materials and tools, building confidence in their own technical abilities. Along the way, they gain insights into the job profiles and career opportunities available in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Tech Rally is offered to all school types from grade 5 onwards. The stations are carefully tailored to suit the age and background of the participants. The course lasts for two school hours and is designed for groups of up to 30 students.

Testimonials
To inspire students to take an interest in science and technology, a “Technology Rally” was held on June 13 and 14 for all 5th-grade students at the Dominikus-Zimmermann-Gymnasium in Landsberg.
At a variety of hands-on stations, the children demonstrated their craftsmanship and technical curiosity: they sawed, soldered, hammered, screwed, bent wire, connected cables, made leather bracelets, designed door signs, cut out animal figures, played a technology memory game, and cut copper pipes – there was something for everyone.
The special feature: during the 90-minute session, students were free to choose whatever activity they felt like doing. The focus was entirely on the joy of making and doing.
They were supported by experienced instructors Corinna Reiner and Michael Stoß, who not only offered technical guidance but also provided insight into career opportunities in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Technology Rally was a great success for everyone involved – full of fun, curiosity, and hands-on experiences that may have already sparked interest in future career paths.
