Project Description

How can pupils be inspired by the world of electrical engineering – especially the workings of electric devices?

The VR training “Oscilloscope” offers an immersive learning environment where pupils analyse electrical voltages using an oscilloscope – a measuring device similar to an ECG.

Developed by Munich-based software company Usaneers, the programme was supported both financially and conceptually by the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation and funded by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern.

Program Content

The VR training includes a short tutorial on controller use and three progressive learning scenes:

Basics of Oscilloscope Operation (approx. 25 minutes)

Pupils unpack and connect the device, then analyse the waveform of a signal with guidance from the virtual assistant “Eeve”.

First Encounter with the Time Traveller (approx. 30 minutes)

Pupils meet “Aadam”, a time traveller who crash-landed on Earth. They help repair his speech module using the oscilloscope, learning about frequencies and amplitudes.

Inside the Time Machine (approx. 25 minutes)

Pupils apply their knowledge to repair the generator and compensator of Aadam’s time machine, enabling his return home.

For Schools

The VR training “Oscilloscope” is available free of charge to educational institutions across Germany.
In the regions of Landsberg am Lech, Schongau-Weilheim and Ostallgäu, the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation also offers introductory workshops.
Schools with existing VR hardware can integrate the training directly into lesson.
