The history behind the Foundation
Responsibility and safeguarding the future
In 2007, Dr. Manfred Hirschvogel and the family shareholders of Hirschvogel Holding GmbH established the Foundation. The Foundation was given its name in memory of Frank Hirschvogel, the son of Dr. Manfred and Anne Marie Hirschvogel (née Kennedy), who suffered a fatal accident in 2006 at the age of only 18.
With the founding of the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation, the family shareholders sent out a clear and positive signal for the future – one that safeguards the company as a financially independent and autonomous family enterprise, and one that takes on responsibility as a committed sponsor of innovative projects in science and research as well as in education and vocational training.
The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation is a memorial to the son of Dr. Manfred and Anne Marie Hirschvogel (née Kennedy) who suffered a fatal accident in 2006. The Foundation, which focuses primarily on the education and financial support of young people, thereby opening up new opportunities to them, is certainly something Frank would have welcomed. The Foundation thus has a life-affirming and optimistic attitude – in line with Frank's character. The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation is thus a memorial of extraordinary and lasting value.
Dr. Manfred Hirschvogel passed away on July 3, 2010, aged 65. As CEO and majority shareholder, he headed the company for many years with great dedication and commitment, expansive entrepreneurial vision and an exceptionally caring approach, thereby making it into the global leader that is is today in the automotive supply industry. He put his heart and soul into the company and his employees.
The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation is a major shareholder of Hirschvogel Holding GmbH. The shareholders of the former Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH ceded their company shares as capital reserve to the Foundation.
The income from the Foundation assets and donations received form the financial basis for promoting education according to the Foundation Statute.
